    ABN et al v.Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists' Lawsuit

    ABN diplomates have been approved to identify themselves as specialists in Texas. From a February 21, 2002 memo from then ABN President Cecil Reynolds: "....A copy of the new rule and a letter from the Attorney General's office are enclosed. As you will see, the new rules allow the use of specialty titles for anyone who holds a Diplomate from a refereed, peer reviewed board. The letter from the Texas Attorney General's office clearly designates, by name, ABN as an acceptable refereed board. Please note the requirement that you name the board from which you have received your Diplomate whenever you use your specialty title....."
